I can remember the exact moment in time when life changed.
I was sitting in a 5th grade science class. The tables were tall, white, and the legs were made of metal. You could fit about 4 students across.
We were going over temperatures and degrees in groups of 3, almost like a lab feel.
The teacher handed out thermometers and we had to take the temperature of a beaker full of water then record it.
As she started describing how to use the thermometer the teacher said, “Be careful that you don’t break the thermometers. The mercury will stain your clothes.”
The student next to me (and I still remember their name and even see them sometimes) said out loud to our group, “Like Geoff’s teeth?”
I honestly didn’t hate my classmate that said that. Most would think I’d hold a grudge my whole life. From then on, it wasn’t them that I hated.
It was myself.
Some people can know the “feels” of bad teeth. Some people don’t.
I had troubles talking to children. I had many conversations where children would ask what was wrong with my teeth during my adult life.
You had know idea of the troubles when I didn’t ask if I had something in my teeth after I ate just because I didn’t want anyone looking at my teeth up close.
I couldn’t smile at a stranger when they wished me a Merry Christmas.
I couldn’t tag myself in a photo when I was obviously having the time of my life because if showed my teeth.
I’m not telling you this to give you a sense of how bad my teeth were or to receive any sort of award for life. I’m telling you this for one reason.
Confidence goes the distance. If you have something holding you back in your life based on how you feel or how you see yourself, I highly recommend you do everything you can to fix it.
I’ve talked to many people who have lost a lot of weight and have loose skin. They tell me how they don’t want to take their shirt off or be around children because of the scrutiny.
If you want to be able to wear a certain pant size or show all of the people wrong in your life that bullied you about being skinny.
If you hate glasses and want Lasic eye surgery, do it!
The list goes on. . .
Your life was meant for you to walk around and enjoy every single minute without holding back everyday things like holding your niece close to your face, or smile after someone makes you feel good, or taking your shirt off at the beach.
Make steps today to make you the happiest person you can be and be confident to walk into a room and not hold anything back. You’ve spent every second of every day without the ability to love yourself. You deserve much better.
If you need any help what-so-ever with changing your appearance and confidence with weight loss, muscle gain, or just overall energy . . . let me help.
This is coming from someone who lived part of his life afraid to take off his shirt and someone who lived his whole life afraid to smile. I have the fire!
